    Do not switch measuring ranges while ignition switch is on. Do not switch connections between terminals while ignition switch is on. Ignoring
these precautions could destroy control unit. 

1.

Ensure battery voltage, fuse 18, Digifant system ground wires, fuel pump and fuel pump relay are all in satisfactory condition.

2.

Turn ignition switch to Off position, then disconnect Digifant control unit electrical connector.

3.

Connect Test Box and adapter between control unit and its electrical connector.

4.

Switch multimeter to 20 volt range and connect to terminals of Test Box as indicated in Fig. 10. 

Deceleration Fuel Shutoff

Deceleration fuel shut-off, checking 

Requirements

-

engine oil temperature 80°C (176°F) minimum

-

idle switch OK 

- disconnect main injector harness connector 1 from fuel rail wiring guide connector 2 
- bridge connectors 1 and 2 using adaptor wires VW 1594/1, 2, 15 and 19

- connect US 1115 LED tester to adaptors as shown
- start engine and let idle

-

LED tester must light up

- raise engine speed to approx. 3000 RPM and then release throttle abruptly

-

LED must go out briefly (indicating deceleration fuel shut-off has been activated)

Full Throttle Enrichment

Full throttle enrichment, checking 

- switch OFF ignition
- connect VAG 1367 engine tester using VAG 1367/8 inductive pickup
- start engine and let idle
