Windshield Wiper System, Infinitely Variable lntermittent Operation
Model(s):
Passat, Corrado, Cabriolet, EuroVan from 1992 M.Y.
Starting with model year 1992, Passat, Corrado, Cabriolet and EuroVan models will be equipped with an infinitely variable intermittent wipe for the
windshield wiper.
After switching the ignition on, the wipe pause will be 6 seconds and can be programmed between 1.5 and 22 seconds.
Intermittent wipe, programming:
-
switch on intermittent wipe.
-
switch off intermittent wipe and switch on again after the desired wipe pause.
The pause period can be changed as often as required. After switching off the ignition, the programmed pause period will go back to a 6 second interval
again.

The infinitely variable intermittent wiper operation is controlled by a new relay which can be retrofitted to all VW vehicles that have conventional
intermittent wiper relay Part No. 191 955 531.

remove existing wiper/washer intermittent relay, Part No. 191 955 531, from fuse/relay panel and install new relay, Part No. 357 955 531, for
infinitely variable intermittent operation. For relay location, See Wiring diagram.
