Valve Cover: Service and Repair

Cylinder Head Cover

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Spring Type Clip Pliers (VAS 5024 A)

‹› Ignition Coil Puller (T40039)

Removing

-

Remove the engine cover/upper air filter housing. Refer to => [ Engine Cover/Upper Air Filter Housing ] See: Tune-up and Engine Performance
Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair/Engine Cover/Upper Air Filter Housing.

Remove the toothed belt cover bolts - arrows -.

Remove the ignition coils with power output stage. Refer to => [ Ignition Coils with Power Output Stages ] See: Powertrain Management/Ignition
System/Ignition Coil/Service and Repair.

Disconnect the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) line - 1 - from the cylinder head cover.

-

Remove the crankcase ventilation valve bolts - arrows - and valve from the cylinder head cover.

-

Remove the vent tube bolts - 1 -, vent tube and heat shield from the turbocharger.
