Hydraulic Cylinder on Hinge

CAUTION!
Proceed with caution when reusing hydraulic cylinder. 

Spring clips must not be pried completely out of ball socket, otherwise they will be damaged.

The hydraulic cylinder can jump out of the mounts and injure the operator. 

Hydraulic system is sensitive to any ingress of dirt.

Cover the components as soon as the system is opened to prevent contaminants from entering.

Gaskets must be replaced.

Remove luggage compartment side trim.

Open bypass screw on hydraulic pump.

Reach under spring clips - 3 - using a small screwdriver.

Lift spring clips- 3 - only far enough so that they can slide over ball socket in - direction of arrow a and b -. 

-

Remove hydraulic cylinder - 1 - from both ball studs.
