Engine Oil

Oil System Capacity and Specification

Replace the engine oil.

Checking the Oil Level:

  ‹› The oil level must not exceed the MAX mark - danger of damaging the catalytic converter.

Test Conditions

  ‹› Engine oil temperature a minimum of 60 °C (140 °F).

‹› Vehicle in a level position.

‹› After stopping the engine, wait a few minutes to allow oil to flow back into oil pan.

Test Sequence

Pull out the oil dipstick, wipe it off with a clean cloth and insert it all the way.

Withdraw the dipstick again and check the oil level.

Range of marks on the dipstick:

Oil must not be added.

b

Oil may be topped off.

c

Oil must be added.

  ‹› Oil level must not exceed the Max. mark - arrow 1 - and must not fall short of the Min. mark - arrow 2 -.
