Set steering lock housing in base carrier for steering column switches. 

-

Slide the base carrier for steering column switch - 2 - as far as possible onto the steering column.

-

Connect harness connector - arrow - to induction coil.

-

Bolt steering lock housing to steering column with new shear bolts -  1 -.

-

Tighten shear bolts - 1 - until bolt heads shear off.

-

Install all components in reverse order of removal.

CAUTION!
When disconnecting and connecting battery, the procedure must be followed as described in the Repair Information => [ Disconnecting
and Connecting Battery In Engine Compartment ] See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Disconnecting and Connecting Battery In Engine Compartment or => [ Disconnecting and Connecting Batteries In Luggage
Compartment ] See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Disconnecting and Connecting
Batteries In Luggage Compartment.

‹› To remove the steering lock housing, it is first necessary to remove the steering column switch base carrier.

CAUTION!
‹› Steering lock may be destroyed.

‹› If steering lock is operated without lock cylinder, it locks and must be replaced.

‹› Steering lock must not be operated without lock cylinder.

Removing:

-

Disconnect battery. Refer to => [ Disconnecting and Connecting Battery In Engine Compartment ] See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Disconnecting and Connecting Battery In Engine Compartment or => [ Disconnecting and Connecting Batteries
In Luggage Compartment ] See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Disconnecting and Connecting
Batteries In Luggage Compartment.

Remove base carrier for steering column switches, refer to => [ Steering Column Switch Base Plate ]. See: Steering Column Switch Base Plate
