Screw turned outwards (clearance at timing lever)
Residual volume is too small. This leads to performance complaints such as "flat spots" when starting off and/or accelerating from low engine speeds
and/or experiencing jerking in all gears

If the above complaints are heard

-

Perform following basic setting on residual volume adjusting screw -2-

-

Remove anti-tamper cap

-

Release adjusting screw -2- lock nut

Residual volume is too small

-

Screw in adjusting screw until idle speed increases
-

from point at which speed increase starts, turn adjusting screw back a half turn

-

Lock adjusting screw and secure with new anti-tamper cap

Residual volume too great (engine speed too high)

-

Turn adjusting screw out until idle speed no longer decreases

-

Turn adjusting screw in again until idle speed starts to increase
-

from point at which engine speed starts to increase, turn adjusting screw back a half turn

-

Lock adjusting screw and secure using new anti-tamper cap
