Heater Box/Evaporator Housing, Removing

Heater Box/Evaporator Housing, Removing

NOTE:

For illustration purposes, heater box/evaporator housing is shown with the instrument panel removed.
1 - Heater box/evaporator housing
2 - Rubber grommet
3 - Screws

NOTE:  Plug heater core outlets to prevent coolant spills in the passenger compartment during heater box/evaporator housing removal.

Removing

-

Remove glove box

-

Remove right air duct

-

Remove air intake duct, rear (on bulkhead)

-

Remove center air outlet and center air duct (if equipped)

-

Loosen and remove heater/fresh air control cables from housing

-

Remove harness connector from fresh air blower series resistor

-

Remove footwell air outlet console and cover

-

Remove coolant hoses from heater core and plug connections

-

Loosen and remove cable at heater control valve

-

Remove screws -3-

NOTE:  The lower screw is located on the bulkhead beneath the engine compartment trim.

Remove heater box/evaporator housing -1-
