Insert 3248 A counter-hold tool and loosen vibration damper/ crankshaft pulley by loosening center bolt

Note:  Counter-hold tool 3248 can be used if counter-hold tool 3248 A cannot be inserted.

Turn crankshaft to TDC No.1 cylinder -arrow-

Marks on injection pump sprocket/console and on flywheel! clutch bell housing -arrows- must align

Engine installed:

Note:  This condition is only possible every 2nd TDC position.

Engine removed:

-

Set TDC setting device 2068 A to 82 mm -arrow A-

^

left-hand mark on scale is reference point

-

Install setting device as shown

-

Turn crankshaft until TDC mark on flywheel aligns with edge of setting device -arrow B-

^

marks on injection pump sprocket and console must align

Note:  This condition is only possible every 2nd TDC position.
