Remove parking brake cable at brake caliper.

Note:  Be careful not to damage parking brake boot when removing and installing cable.

Remove brake caliper and hang on body using tie wire.

Remove brake disc.

^

Drill out blind rivets -arrows-.

^

Remove cover plate -1-.

^

Remove cover plate -2-.

Note:  Place VAG 13831A transmission lifter underneath (danger of accident if parts fall off when ejecting wheel hub and wheel bearing).

Pulling out wheel hub

Install separating device -1-.

Installation position: Install separating device so that the flat side (rear side) contacts the control arm at three contact points.
