Seat Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair

Front Belt tensioning Unit, Deploying (Disposal)

WARNING:

It is dangerous to scrap an unignited gas generator.

-

The belt tensioner unit gas generator must be deployed before scrapping. This is important because the gas generator is a pyrotechnic
device that can cause injury if activated improperly (for instance when using a cutting torch).

Use J-44210 Deployment Fixture and refer to the Airbag & Pyrotechnic Deployment Device Instruction Booklet for proper deployment procedure.
