Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Catalytic Converter with Front Exhaust Pipe

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque wrench (5-50 Nm) (VAG 1331)

Removing

-

Remove the engine cover/upper air filter housing. Refer to --> [ Engine Cover/Upper Air Filter Housing ] See: Engine/Tune-up and Engine
Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair/Engine.

-

Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector -  arrow - and free up the wire.

-

Remove the nuts - arrows - of the front exhaust pipe/turbocharger. 

-

Remove right underbody trim retainer - arrows - and trim.
