Checking throttle valve positioner -V60- fuel cut-off and starting function |
–
| Start engine and run at idling speed. |
Operating rod of throttle valve positioner -V60- must be pulled to overrun/fuel cut-off position (an air gap must be present between stop bolt and operating rod). |
Operating rod is not pulled on or not pulled on completely: |
–
| Check vacuum line between carburettor connection and throttle valve positioner -V60-. |
–
| Check throttle valve positioner -V60- → Chapter. |
–
| Check Ecotronic control unit -J184- → Chapter, quick Ecotronic function test. |
–
| Carry out electrical test, test step 11 → Chapter. |
–
| Rectify open circuit between throttle valve positioner breather valve -N117- according to current flow diagram. |
–
| Check line assignment according to current flow diagram. |
After approx. 10…20 seconds, throttle valve positioner -V60- must be vented via vent valve and operating rod moves to start position. |
Operating rod does not move to start position: |
–
| Check vacuum line between throttle valve positioner -V60-/air filter for continuity. |
–
| Check throttle valve positioner -V60- → Chapter. |
–
| Check Ecotronic control unit -J184- → Chapter, quick Ecotronic function test. |
–
| Carry out electrical test, test step 10 → Chapter. |
Note If ignition is switched on again immediately after switching off engine, throttle valve positioner -V60- must be immediately vented and must move to start position. |
