| Bring Lambda probe -G39- to operating temperature by increasing engine speed above 2000 rpm up for approx. 1 minute. |

| Connect Lambda probe cable. |
| –
| Pull sealing cap from vacuum connection on carburettor (for temperature regulator): |
| Air flap must slowly swivel slightly in closing direction. |
| Air flap does not swivel in closing direction: |
| Lambda probe -G39- carbon-fouled/defective, renew if necessary → Note |
| 1)
| Lambda probe -G39- may be carbon-fouled as a result of malfunction; if necessary, attempt to clear it by driving rapidly cross-country for 20 minutes. |
