Subframe version up to 01.84 > < Removing and installing subframe, anti-roll bar and wishbone

Reworking cap nut in longitudinal member
If the threads of the cap nut in the longitudinal member are damaged, the thread must either be retapped or the cap nut must be drilled through.
When drilling through proceed as follows:
–  Support engine/gearbox assembly with support bracket -10-222/A- and frame -10-222A/1-.
–  Remove subframe.
–  Drill upwards through damaged cap nut in longitudinal member with a 10.2 mm Ø drill.
  Note
When drilling, do not cant the drill.
  WARNING
Wear eye protection.
–  Cut new thread in cap nut.
–  Use a new collared bolt to secure subframe .

1)  These bolts are not listed in the → Electronic parts catalogue “ETKA”, and must be ordered separately.
  Note
   
Tightening torque remains unchanged.
