Removing

–	Disconnect battery earth strap → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27.

–	Remove footwell trim panel -5-.

WARNING

Refer to safety precautions when working on the airbag → Chapter.

–	Pivot bar -2- in opposite direction of arrow and pull connector -3- out of the control unit-1-.

–	Remove nuts -4- (Qty 3, 6 Nm) and pull control unit off studs.
