Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Hose clamps up to 25 mm Ø -3094-
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
t  Brake filling and bleeding unit -V.A.G 1869-
t  Upgrade kit for brake filling and bleeding unit -V.A.G 1869/4-
   
t  Brake filling and bleeding unit -VAS 5234-
Removing
–  Note or request radio code on vehicles with coded radio if necessary.
–  Disconnect battery
–  Clamp clutch master cylinder supply hose with special tool 3094.
–  Pull off clutch master cylinder supply hose.
–  Remove control unit and hydraulic unit of Mark 20 IE → Chapter.
–  Remove control unit and hydraulic unit of Mark 60 → Chapter.
–  Disconnect vacuum hose from brake servo.
–  Remove trim below dash panel.

–  Remove bolts -1-.
–  Remove cover -A-.
  A48-0104
–  Remove connecting plate between clutch and brake pedals on vehicles with a manual gearbox.
–  Remove brake light switch -1- → Chapter.
–  Separate brake pedal from brake servo → Chapter.
–  Guide brake servo with brake master cylinder out forwards and remove.
Installing
Install in reverse order.
–  Removing and installing brake light switch → Chapter.
–  Bleed brake system → Chapter.
