t  Hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390-

t  Vacuum tester -V.A.G 1368-
Test procedure
–  Unscrew filler cap from fuel tank filler neck.

–  Connect hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390- to vacuum tester -V.A.G 1368- -Connection B-.
–  Set vacuum tester to -A/B- position.
–  Operate hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390- several times. Vacuum must not build up.
If vacuum builds up:
–  Check gravity valve → Item.
–  Check line -1- from fuel tank for blockages.
If vacuum does not build up:
–  Screw filler cap onto fuel tank filler neck.
–  Operate hand vacuum pump -V.A.G 1390- several times. Vacuum must not build up.
  Note
If there is little fuel in fuel tank, hand vacuum pump must be operated at least 20 to 30 times.
If vacuum builds up:
–  Renew fuel tank filler neck filler cap.
