  Note

t  Push button A until the Climatronic's control unit -J255- displays “Lo”. The coolant shut-off valve in the heat exchanger return line stops the coolant from flowing through the heater's heat exchanger.
t  The Climatronic control unit -J255- transmits the set temperature to the engine control unit, which influences the activation characteristic of the thermostat for map-controlled engine cooling -F265-. This controls the temperature of the coolant when, for example, the engine is running at partial load in such a way that the temperature of the air exiting the vents during heating mode (push button -B- until the Climatronic control unit -J255- displays “HI”) is not higher than that of vehicles that do not have map-controlled cooling.
t  Vehicles with mapped cooling are equipped with a thermostat in which an additional electric control element is integrated. This control element (thermostat for map-controlled engine cooling -F265-) is controlled by the engine control unit based on the momentary engine load and the setting of the Climatronic control unit -J255-. → Rep. Gr.19
t  The temperature of the coolant is influenced by actuating the thermostat for map-controlled engine cooling -F265- (when the engine is running at partial load, the thermostat opens at a higher temperature than when running at full load).
