Checking operation of the ignition key withdrawal lock
                            
   Start

–  Shift selector lever to “P”.
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Pull out ignition key.
 Faulty selector mechanism or
steering lock.
–  Renew defective parts.

 Can selector lever be shifted out of “P” with button pressed?→yes→Is locking cable not adjusted correctly?→yes→
–  Correct adjustment.
 
           
     ↓          ↑           
     no         ↑           
     ↓          ↑           
 
–  Depress brake pedal.
–  Insert ignition key and switch on ignition.
–  Shift selector lever to “P”.
 ↑           
     ↓          ↑           
 Can selector lever be shifted out of “P” with button pressed?→no→↑           
     ↓          ↑           
     yes         ↑           
     ↓          ↑           
 
–  It must be possible to move selector lever into “R, N, D, 3, 2, or 1”
 ↑           
     ↓          ↑           
 Can ignition key be withdrawn?→yes→↑←←←←←no    
   ↓                 ↑    
 no→
–  Depress brake pedal.
–  Shift selector lever to “P”.
→The ignition key can be removed and the button on the selector lever is blocked in “P” 
                      ↓     
                      yes     
                      ↓     
                 Ignition key withdrawal lock OK.
