Installing torque converter
Installing torque converter
   
The ATF pump is driven by the torque converter -arrows-.
When installing the torque converter, ensure that drive engages in the recesses in the ATF pump inner wheel.

The converter is correctly installed when the value of dimension -a- between screw flange of gearbox housing and contact surface of stud bolts of torque converter is
t  21 mm in 4-cylinder engines
t  17 mm in 5 and 6-cylinder engines
–  It is essential to make sure that dimension -a- is maintained during further assembly. The converter is not allowed to slip forwards.
