1)  Adjustment work is required if these components are replaced → Chapter.
  Note
A 4 mm hole is located on the bottom side of the pinion housing near bolting flange on rear final drive housing. If oil leaks out here, renew seals → Item.
   
1 - 12-point nut for shaft bevel gear
q   Unscrewing → Anchor
q   Fitting → Anchor
q   Insert with Loctite 638
2 - Small tapered roller bearing inner race → Note
3 - Small tapered roller bearing outer race → Note
q   Pressing out → Anchor
q   Pressing in → Anchor
q   Insert with Loctite 638
4 - Pinion housing → Note
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
5 - Oil seals
q   For shaft bevel gear
q   Pulling out → Anchor
q   Assembling → Anchor
q   Inserting in installation position → Anchor
q   Driving in → Anchor
6 - Large tapered roller bearing outer race → Note
q   Pressing out → Anchor
q   Pressing in → Anchor
q   Insert with Loctite 638
7 - Large tapered roller bearing inner race → Note
q   Pulling off → Anchor
q   Pressing on → Anchor
8 - Spacer sleeve
q   Always renew
9 - Shaft bevel gear → Note
q   Is paired to bevel gear (with stub shaft)
q   Determine according to gearbox code using electronic parts catalogue → Chapter
q   Clean locking fluid from thread
