| Pull fuse No. 32 out of fuse holder. |
Note | Removing the fuse interrupts the voltage supply to the injectors. |

| Pull connectors off outer injectors. |

| Pull off spark plug connectors using assembly tool -T10112-. |
| –
| Remove spark plugs using spark plug spanner -3122 B-. |
| –
| Check compression using compression tester -V.A.G 1763- and adapter -V.A.G 1763/6-. |
Note | –
| Have a second mechanic operate the starter. |
| –
| Operate starter until tester shows no further pressure increase. |
| New: 10...13 bar, wear limit: 7.5 bar |
| Maximum permissible difference between all cylinders: 3 bar |

| Finally clear fault memory of engine control unit as removing the fuse causes a fault to be saved → Rep. Gr.01. |
