Removing
–  Remove noise insulation tray: → Rep. Gr.50.
–  Drain engine oil.
Vehicles with long-life service
   
–  Pull 3-pin connector off oil level and oil temperature sender -G266--1- (if part of original equipment).
Vehicles with turbocharger
–  Remove turbocharger oil return line -2- from oil sump.
Continuation for all vehicles
–  Install sump bolts using 10 mm jointed wrench -3185-. Unscrew with Allen key, long reach -T10058-.
–  Remove sump. If necessary, loosen oil sump using light blows with rubber-headed hammer.
–  Remove sealant residue on cylinder block with a flat scraper.

–  Remove sealant residue on oil sump with a rotating brush, e.g. a hand drill with a plastic brush (wear protective glasses).
–  Clean sealing surfaces. They must be free of oil and grease.
