t  Voltage tester -V.A.G 1527B-

t  Auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C-
t  Current flow diagram
Test prerequisites
  W00-10008
l  Fuse no. 164 and 180 OK
l  Radiator fan thermal switch -F18- OK
Test procedure
–  Pull off 3-pin connector from radiator fan thermal switch -F18-.
  N97-0142
–  Bridge contacts -1- and -2- of connector with auxiliary cables from auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C-. Stage 1 of radiator fan -V7- and radiator fan, right -V35- must run.
–  Switch on ignition.
–  Bridge contacts -2- and -3- of connector with cables from auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C-. Stage 2 of radiator fan -V7- and radiator fan, right -V35- must run.
If fan 1st or 2nd speeds do not run:
–  Locate and eliminate open circuit using current flow diagram → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
If no wiring open circuit was found:
–  Renew radiator fan -V7- or radiator fan, right -V35-.
