Vehicles with manual gearbox
   
–  Adjust accelerator cable by repositioning variable detent -arrow- on support bracket so that cable cam of throttle valve module -J338- reaches full throttle position.
Vehicles with automatic gearbox

t  Hand multimeter -V.A.G 1526B-
Procedure
–  Push accelerator pedal to full throttle position.
  W00-10023
–  Adjust accelerator cable by repositioning variable detent -arrow- on support bracket so that cable cam of throttle valve module -J338- reaches full throttle position.
–  Release accelerator pedal
–  Pull 2-pin connector off kick-down switch -F8- in front of engine compartment (on bulkhead).
  N20-0234
–  Connect multimeter -V.A.G 1526B- with cables from auxiliary measuring set -V.A.G 1594C- to kick-down switch -F8-.
–  Check resistance at switch. Specification: ∞ Ω
–  Slowly move accelerator pedal in direction of full throttle.
Shortly after kick-down pressure point, resistance must drop to 0 Ω. The accelerator pedal must be just before the end stop at this point.
