t  Camshaft bar -T10068 A-
Test procedure
–  Remove right insulation tray: → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.50
–  Remove cylinder head cover → Chapter.

–  Set crankshaft to TDC No. 1 cylinder mark -arrow- by turning crankshaft on the vibration damper securing bolt in direction of engine rotation.

If the TDC No. 1 Cyl. setting is correct it is possible to see a notch on the intermediate shaft chain sprockets -arrow-.
  Note
This condition is only achieved every 2nd complete rotation of crankshaft.
If the groove cannot be seen:
–  Turn crankshaft one full turn further in direction of engine rotation.

–  The camshaft bar -T10068 A- must engage in grooves in both shafts.
  Note
If camshaft bar cannot yet be fitted, turn crankshaft in direction of engine rotation up to approx. 5 mm past TDC setting for No. 1 cylinder (dependent on drive chain tolerances).
