• ◆ Test box V.A.G 1598/22
• ◆ Adapter set V.A.G 1594
• ◆ Hand multimeter V.A.G 1526 or multimeter V.A.G 1715
• ◆ Current flow diagram

Note:

The engine speed signal is output at contact 6 of engine control unit, the signal is required amongst other things for the automatic gearbox control unit to calculate the shift points and for the rev. counter in dash panel insert. Check wiring connections for problems with driving characteristics and illogical switch points.

• ‒ → Connect test box V.A.G 1598/22 to control unit wiring harness.
• ‒ Test for open circuit in wiring between dash panel insert and contact 6 on the test box, using current flow diagram
