Removing
Removing
–  First remove spring.
Removing and installing spring → Chapter.
Removing and installing spring, R32 → Chapter.
–  Remove wheel.
–  Unclip speed sensor wire from retainer.
   
–  Partially detach wheel housing liner.
–  Position engine and gearbox jack -V.A.G 1383 A- beneath.

–  Remove upper bolt securing shock absorber -arrow-.
–  Slowly lower trailing arm with engine and gearbox jack -V.A.G 1383 A-.

–  Remove lower bolt securing shock absorber -arrow-.
–  Take shock absorber out of vehicle.
