Removing and installing
Removing and installing
Required special tools, testers, measuring instruments and auxiliary items
   
t  Radio release tool -VAS 3316-
The radio release tool -3316- is comprised of two identical parts.
Removing
Before beginning dismantling work, perform the following steps:
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
–  Remove radio unit before removing CD player → Chapter.
–  Slide radio release tool -3316- into release slots until they locate.

–  Pull CD player out of the dash panel using the grip rings of the release tools.
  Note
t  When doing this the radio release tool -3316- must not be pushed to the side or tilted.
t  Press locating lugs on the side of the CD player inwards to remove the release tools from the CD player.
Installing
–  Fit connections on CD player.
–  Push CD player straight into dash panel until it engages in installation frame.
–  Fit connections on radio unit.
–  Push radio unit straight into dash panel until it engages in installation frame.

Multi-pin connector “A”
Multi-pin connector “A” is identical to the multi-pin connector I, part 3, blue for radios “BETA” and “GAMMA”.
13 - CD changer, DATA IN (data input from radio unit)
14 - CD changer, DATA OUT (data output to radio unit)
15 - CD changer, CLOCK (internal check protocol for data flow monitoring)
16 - CD changer, terminal 30 voltage supply (+)
17 - CD changer, control signal
18 - CD changer, left and right channels, earth
19 - CD changer, left channel, CD/L
20 - CD changer, right channel, CD/R
