| The “telematics system” is integrated into the vehicle system. It allows the driver the use of various services provided by the telematics central control centre automatically or to select via a key. |
| This may be information services such as congestion messages, route descriptions or tourist information or the possibility of activating a break-down service. This information is provided according to the drivers requirements and is dependant on the services provided by the telematics central control centre. |
| The telematics system can also be voice activated by the driver, refer to additional information in → Owners Manual. |
| The telematics central control centre can remotely control the following functions, depending if customer desires them to be activated: |

| Switch on hazard warning system. |

| Switch on vehicle horn. |
| If an airbag is triggered in an accident, this is registered by the telematics control unit and, as a result, the vehicle hazard warning system is automatically switched on and all the doors are unlocked by the door control units. In addition an emergency message is automatically sent to the telematics central control centre. Who will then attempt to talk to the driver to discus the respective assistance required and then initiate the relevant assistance. If the driver cannot communicate the telematics central control centre will automatically initiate rescue assistance. |
| The position of the vehicle is determined via the GPS technology The staff of the telematics central control centre can therefore always determine the current position of the vehicle. |
| The GPS receiver is integrated in the telematics system. |
| The communication between the driver and the telematics central control centre is via the telephone network, the telephone sender and receiver is also integrated in the telematics system control unit. |
