Removing and installing telematics control unit in Jetta Variant and Golf saloon
Removing and installing telematics control unit in Jetta Variant and Golf saloon
  Note
t  The following sequence is for the Jetta Variant. Removal and installation in the Golf saloon is similar to Jetta Variant.
t  Removal and installation in Jetta saloon → Chapter.
Battery must be disconnected before repair work is begun! → Electrical system; Repair Group 27; Starter, current supply; Battery; Disconnecting and reconnecting batteries
–  Remove floor cover in luggage compartment.
   
–  Remove both storage trays -arrows- from luggage compartment.

–  Remove vehicle tool set in -direction of arrow-.

–  Remove bolt -arrow- from plastic retainer.
–  Remove plastic retainer, as far as wiring harness from control unit will allow.
–  Remove backing plate from underside of plastic retainer and remove control unit.
First disconnect 42-pin connector on telematics control unit.

–  Press securing clip -1- and move locking lever in -direction of arrow 2- for this.
–  Then disconnect aerial wiring connection on telematics control unit.
