Removing and installing dash panel insert
Removing and installing dash panel insert
  Note
Before removing the dash panel insert, the work procedure “Renewing dash panel insert” should always be carried out in order that the data stored in the control unit can be read → Chapter.
Removing:

It is not necessary to remove the steering wheel. For reasons of clarity, however, the steering wheel is not shown in the following figures.
–  Switch off all electrical consumers and ignition and pull out ignition key.
–  Pull out steering wheel fully using adjuster and engage steering wheel at lowest position.
   
–  Release cover -1- from catch and place it on top cover of steering column switch -2-.

–  Remove two screws -arrows-.
–  Pull dash panel out slightly towards passenger compartment and separate connections on rear of dash panel insert.
–  Take out dash panel insert.

Installing:
–  Insert dash panel insert into dash panel insert aperture and reconnect connections.
–  Secure wiring harness for blue multi-pin connector (32-pin) to back of dash panel insert using clamp -arrow-.
Remainder of installation is carried out in reverse order of removal.
