Removing and installing "Sachs” clutch > < Clutch - vehicles with turbo diesel engine
Identifying make of clutch, vehicles with 2.0 l - 100 kW turbo diesel engine and vehicles with 2.0 l - 103 kW turbo diesel engine

A clutch manufactured by either “Sachs” or “LuK” may be installed.
The make of the clutch can be determined as follows with the clutch installed:
–  Remove noise insulation → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. Gr.50.
   
Some notches -arrows- are located in lower region of sump between engine -A- and gearbox -B-.
–  Check outer contour of flywheel through these notches.
Round outer contour -arrow- = Sachs clutch = -A-
–  Removing and installing Sachs clutch → Chapter

Outer contour with edge -arrows 1- and, in addition, a circumferential crease -arrow 2- = LuK clutch = -B-
