Checking oil level or topping up oil in rear final drive, Golf 2004 ► and Passat 2006 ►

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-

Test precondition

l	Vehicle level.

Check fluid level

–	Place drip tray -VAS 6208- under final drive.

–	To check gear oil, remove oil plug -arrow-.

The oil level is correct when the rear final drive is filled to the lower edge of the filler hole.

–	Screw in plug -arrow- and tighten. Torque setting: → Chapter.

Topping up oil:

–	Fill with gear oil to lower edge of filler hole.

Gear oil for the rear final drive is available as a part → Electronic parts catalogue „ETKA“.

–	Screw in plug -arrow- and tighten. Torque setting: → Chapter.
