Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Refractometer -T10007-
t  Drip tray -V.A.G 1306-
t  Spring-type clip pliers -VAS 5024 A-
t  Cooling system charging unit -VAS 6096-
t  Adapter -V.A.G 1274/8-
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-

Removing
–  Bring lock carrier into service position → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. Gr.50
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove fan support with fans → Chapter.
–  Pull coolant hoses off radiator.
–  Remove left and right securing bolts → Item for radiator mounting.
–  Swing radiator back slightly and remove radiator upwards.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order, note the following:
–  Fill with coolant → Chapter.
Additional information and removal instructions for vehicles with air conditioner
  WARNING
The air conditioner refrigerant circuit must not be opened.
  Note
To prevent damage to condenser and also to refrigerant lines/hoses, ensure that the lines and hoses are not stretched, kinked or bent.
–  Remove retaining clamp(s) for refrigerant lines.
–  Pull radiator out of lock carrier.
   
–  Remove securing bolts -2- from condenser on radiator.

–  Carefully pull radiator slightly to right and remove securing bolt on side -arrow- from condenser on radiator.
