Removing and installing throttle valve moduleJ338
Removing and installing throttle valve module -J338-
Removing:
Vehicles with sound generator:
–  Remove charge air duct to sound generator → Chapter.
Golf, Eos, Scirocco:
   
–  Remove radiator cowl → Chapter.
All:
–  Loosen hose clip -2-.
–  Remove bolt -4-.
–  Disconnect electrical connector -arrow-.
–  Remove noise insulation → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.50.

–  Remove air pipe -item 1 and 2-.

–  Remove bolt -1- and take out air pipe downwards.
  A21-10161
–  Disconnect electrical connector -1- at throttle valve module -J338-.
–  Remove bolts -arrows- and detach throttle valve module -J338-.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
Specified torques → Chapter.
–  Clean sealing surface for O-ring.
–  Renew gasket, making sure that service lug is correctly positioned on oil seal.
–  If a new throttle valve module -J338- was installed, adapt the engine control unit to throttle valve module -J338- → Vehicle diagnostic tester„Guided functions“.
