Removing and installing map-controlled engine cooling thermostatF265
Removing and installing map-controlled engine cooling thermostat -F265-
  Note
First remove coolant pipe when the map-controlled engine cooling thermostat -F265- with coolant distributor housing is to be removed → Chapter.
Removing:
   
–  Remove engine cover, if fitted.
–  Disconnect earth strap at battery with ignition switched off → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27.
–  Remove alternator → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27.
–  Remove air conditioner compressor from bracket for ancillaries → Heating, air conditioning; Rep. Gr.87. Secure to body with wire.
  Note
Do not open air conditioning system!
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.

–  Detach coolant hose -2-; to do so, pull out retaining clip -1-.

–  Remove bracket for ancillaries: bolts -1…6-.

–  Disconnect connector -1- and remove map-controlled engine cooling thermostat -F265--arrows-.
Installing:
–  Clean sealing surface for O-ring.
–  Renew O-ring and moisten it with coolant.

–  Install map-controlled engine cooling thermostat -F265--arrows-.
  A19-0532
–  Reconnect coolant hose -2-; retaining clip -1- must engage.
–  Install ancillary bracket → Heating, air conditioning; Rep. Gr.87.
–  Install alternator → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27.
–  Install air conditioner compressor → Heating, air conditioning; Rep. Gr.87.
–  Install poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Fill coolant system with coolant → Chapter.
–  Observe required procedures after connecting battery → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27.
