Note t
Vehicles with engine codes BLY and BVZ comply with emission standard EU 2. On these vehicles some components which are relevant for exhaust emissions are not fitted, e.g.: exhaust gas recirculation system NOx sensor control unit -J583-, Lambda probe 2 -G108- and Lambda probe 2 after catalytic converter -G131-. Take note when performing work sequences.
t
Do not use sealants containing silicone. Silicone particles drawn into the engine will not be burnt in the engine and will damage the lambda probes.
t
Renew seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts.
t
After working on the exhaust system, ensure that the system is not under stress and that there is sufficient clearance to the bodywork. If necessary, loosen clamp and align silencers and exhaust pipe so that sufficient clearance is maintained to the body at all points and the mountings are evenly loaded.
