Removing and installing fuel pressure senderG247
Removing and installing fuel pressure sender -G247-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Open ring spanner with 3/8" drive, width across flats 27 mm (flared spanner)
  N24-10478
t  Assembly tool -T10118-
  WARNING
t  Observe safety precautions when releasing fuel pressure in high-pressure section → Chapter
t  For safety reasons, when the battery is not disconnected, the fuse for the fuel pump must be removed before opening the fuel system, otherwise the fuel pump could be activated by the driver door contact switch.
Removing:
–  Remove engine cover, if fitted.

–  Pull hoses and connectors off vacuum reservoir -A- and remove it.

–  Release connector from fuel pressure sender -G247- with assembly tool -T10118- and pull off -arrow-.

–  First apply open ring spanner -A- to fuel pressure sender -G247-. Then insert an extension into the open ring spanner.
  WARNING
The fuel rail is pressurized. Wear eye protection and protective clothing to avoid possible injury and skin contact. Before loosening the fuel pressure sender -G247- wrap a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection.
–  Unscrew fuel pressure sender -G247-.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, note the following:
–  Lubricate sealing cone and thread of fuel pressure sender -G247- with clean engine oil.
Specified torque: 22 Nm.
