Removing and installing intake manifold
  Note
t  Always follow safety precautions → Chapter.
t  Observe rules for cleanliness → Chapter.
Removing intake manifold
–  Remove engine cover, if fitted.
   
–  Pull hoses and connectors off vacuum reservoir -A- and remove it.

–  Remove hose -1- and connector for intake air temperature sender -G299--2- from air filter housing.
–  Unscrew bolt -3- and remove air filter housing with intake hose -4-.
–  Remove exhaust gas recirculation connecting pipe between intake manifold and exhaust gas recirculation valve → Item.
–  Separate all electrical connections on intake manifold.

–  Pull crankcase breather hose off cylinder head cover and open hose clips between intake manifold and fuel rail -arrows-.
  Note
CLIC hose clip pliers -V.A.G 1723- are recommended for installation of hose clips.

–  Remove intake manifold securing nuts -arrows-.
–  Remove intake manifold upwards.
Installing intake manifold
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence of removal.
Specified torques → Chapter.
