Disconnecting battery
The battery can be found on the right in the luggage compartment under the moulded element for the vehicle tools and the removable tow hitch.
  Note
t  By disconnecting the battery earth wire (open circuit), safety is ensured when carrying out work on the electrical system.
t  The battery positive wire need only be disconnected for removal of the battery.
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers.
   
–  Unscrew securing nut -1- and remove moulded element for breakdown kit.

–  Remove moulded element for vehicle tools and removable tow hitch in the sequence shown. Lift up -A-, pull -B- and take out -C-.

–  Remove securing bolts -arrows- and remove cover of battery box -1-.

–  Remove moulded element -arrow-.
  N27-10404
–  First unscrew battery earth terminal clamp -2- from battery negative terminal.
–  Then unscrew battery positive terminal clamp -1- from battery positive terminal.
