Checking activation
^ VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST) connected with function 03 ("Output Diagnostic Test Mode") selected See: Computers and Control
Systems/Testing and Inspection/Scan Tool Testing and Procedures/Scan Tool Connecting and Initial Checks/Connecting VAG 1551 Scan
Tool
^ Ignition switched OFF
-
Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) Actuator (V60).
-
Connect US 1115 LED Tester to harness connector terminals -1 - and -2- using adapter cable from VW 1594 adapter kit.
-
Bridge harness connector terminals -3- and -4- using test leads from VW 1594 adapter kit.
-
Switch ignition ON.
-
Test with VAG 1551 (Output Diagnostic Test Mode) until Throttle Position (TP) Actuator (V60) is triggered.
-
Slightly open throttle valve and close again.
^ LED must light up alternately
Note: If the throttle valve opens too wide, disconnect test leads on terminals -3- and -4-, reconnect them, and repeat the test.

Complete the Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM).

Switch ignition OFF.
-
Disconnect test leads, and reconnect harness connector for Throttle Position (TP) Actuator.

Check and erase DTC Memory See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection
If LED does not light up:
-
Perform electrical testing See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters
Resistance, checking
-
Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) Actuator (V60).
