Brake Pad: Service and Repair
1.
Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheels.
2.
Remove caliper mounting bolts, then push caliper up and swing out from bottom.
3.
Remove brake pads and anti-rattle springs, then hang caliper on frame.
4.
Push piston back into caliper housing. Always remove some brake fluid from master cylinder reservoir prior to installing new pads. When
caliper piston is pushed back, fluid is forced out of caliper and into reservoir. After pads are installed, refill reservoir to MAX mark.
5.
Mount springs and inner brake pad on wheel bearing housing, then install outer pad.
6.
Place caliper over pads, then align holes for mounting bolts.
7.
Install mounting bolts, then tighten bolts to specifications.
8.
Depress brake pedal several times to position caliper piston and seat brake pads.
