Throttle Cable/Linkage: Service and Repair
Automatic Transmission

To replace the Throttle Cable:

1.

Place the gear selector lever in PARK and set the parking brake.

2.

Remove the cable end from the throttle valve by removing the retaining clip.

Loosen the nuts mounting the cable to its bracket.

Remove the retaining clip from the transmission end of the cable and pull the cable end from its ball socket.

5.

Installation is the reverse of removal.

6.

Adjust cable refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES.

7.

As a final check, depress the accelerator pedal a few times to check for binding before driving the car.
