Fuel Filter: Service and Repair
Fuel Filter Servicing

Fuel filter (Diesel engine), replacing

Note:  Do not allow diesel fuel to contact coolant hoses. Wipe any diesel fuel off hoses immediately and wash hoses with soap and water.

Removing:

Remove retaining clip -1-.
Remove control valve -2- with fuel lines connected.
Remove fuel hose -3- (feed from fuel tank) and -4- (feed to injection pump).
Direction of flow is indicated by arrows
Do not reverse connections

Installing:

Install control valve -2- with fuel lines connected.
Use new O-ring
Attach retaining clip -1-.
Attach fuel hose connections -3- and -4- with hose clamps.
After installing filter:
Check fuel system for leaks (visual inspection).
Rev engine several times and let idle. Fuel flow through transparent pipe must be free of bubbles.
