Fig. 29 Exploded View Of Rear Windshield Wiper Assembly

Refer to Fig. 25 through 29 for rear wiper configurations.

1. Remove cap or cover at base of wiper arm. Use caution not to damage window washer nozzle.
2. Remove wiper arm retaining nut from pivot shaft.
3. Remove wiper arm and blade assembly. Note Park position of wiper arm for later assembly.
4. Remove any trim panels necessary to gain access to wiper motor.
5. Remove nut retaining wiper pivot shaft bushing to body. Note position of any washers, spacers and seals for later assembly.
6. Disconnect window washer hose.
7. Remove wiper motor attaching bolts/nuts, then disconnect electrical connector.
8. Remove wiper motor assembly, with brackets if equipped, from liftgate.
9. Use caution not to damage seals when withdrawing pivot bushing.

10. Remove mounting bolts, then wiper motor from brackets, if equipped.
11. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Prior to installing motor, connect motor to vehicle electrical connector and turn ignition on.
b. Turn wiper on and off to ensure motor is in Park position, then turn ignition off.
c. Torque wiper motor mounting bolts/nuts to 44 inch lbs.
e. Torque wiper pivot shaft bushing mounting nut to 62 inch lbs.

Torque wiper arm mounting nut to 12 ft. lbs.
