Section D - Code Control Module
IMPORTANT: Although a code is shown in the upper right hand corner of screen, the control unit still must be coded.

Connect VAS 5051 / 6 diagnostic cable harness to data link connector located under dash on left side

Turn Ignition "ON"
-
From VAS 5051 Start-Up screen press "Vehicle Self Diagnosis" button

Select "01 - Engine Electronics"
-
Select "02 - Interrogate fault memory"
-
Press (<) button
-
Select "05 - Erase fault memory" if required
-
Press (<) button
-
Select "11 - Login-Procedure"
-
Press buttons -1-, -2-, -8- and -3- to input Login code 1283
-
Press -Q- button to confirm
-
Press (<) button when "Function Performed Successfully" comes on in upper left corner of screen
-
Select "07 - Code Control Unit"
-
Enter relevant code number for vehicle noting model year and options
-
Press -Q- button to confirm input
NOTE:
-
Message "Function is unknown or cannot be carried out" is displayed if an unauthorized code number has been entered
-
ECM identification and coding are displayed in upper right corner of screen

Press (<) button when "Coding of vehicle completed" comes on screen in upper left corner

Proceed to Section E
Section E
SECTION E - Create Engine Readiness Code
Requirements for generating engine readiness code:
-
Vehicle in stationary position
-
Automatic transmission selector lever in P (Park) or N (Neutral) position
-
Turn off all electrical consumers (e.g. lights and rear window defroster)
-
Throttle valve angle less than 10 percentage display group 3, display field 3
-
Coolant temperature at least 85°C ->display group 4, display field 3
-
Intake air temperature less than 60°C -> display group 4, display field 4
-
Select "04 - Basic Settings"
-
Press buttons -9- & -8- for Display Group 98: Throttle Body Adaptation

Press "Q" button to confirm
