CONDITION

Entire sunroof assemblies are sometimes replaced because of a bent or broken guide piece for the cable assembly.

The rear guides (arrow 1) and front guides with wind deflector overriders (arrow 2) are now available separately as repair parts.

Note:

The rear guides are the carriers for the locking pawls. A problem with the operation of the sunroof when it is being opened may mean the guide(s)
require modification or replacement. See Technical Bulletin, Group 60, No. 94-03, dated Nov. 9, 1994 for complete details.

The front guides are the carriers for the wind deflector overriders. The overriders exert pressure to lower the wind deflector as the sliding panel
closes.

LABOR OPERATION:

Replace front and/or rear sunroof cable guides (one side)

Replacing Sunroof Cable Guide Assembly

SERVICE

Follow the procedure below to replace the sunroof cable guide assemblies:

Remove sliding glass panel, sunshade, and sunroof drive motor as per instructions in repair manual, repair group 60.
