Problem Oescription
During assembly, your vehicle was inadvertently equipped
with an oxygen sensor light which will automatically come on at 30,000 miles. This warning light, however, is not
required on your vehicle and should not have been installed. The maintenance replacement of the oxygen sensor at
30,000 miles is also not required.
Remedy
Your dealer will disconnect this feature. The work will take
less than one-half hour and will of course be free of charge to you.
Your Action
Please contact the Service Department of your authorized
Volkswagen dealer for an appointment to have the OXS light disconnected.

WORK SEQUENCE
Jetta/Scirocco 16V Vehicles

Open hood.

Locate OXS mileage counter box adjacent to brake booster.

Locate Blue/Green wire 4/(OXS) at mileage counter box, cut and tape both ends of wire.
Golf/GTI 16V Vehicles

Open hood.
-
Locate OXS mileage counter box adjacent to brake booster.

Locate Brown/Black wire 4/(OXS) at mileage counter box, cut and tape both ends of wire.
